If you could think of one of the most romantic places on earth, I would guess that the location of this Maui Beach Wedding would be in the top ten.
I have traveled all over the world, and Hawaii was one of those places that just never really called out to me. Needless to say, I was skeptical. I’m not much of a person for tourist attractions and beaches and that is all I imagined Hawaii to be. I can happily admit – I was dead wrong. The landscape is amazing and there are hiking trails EVERYWHERE, I learned quickly why Hawaii is loved by everybody that visits (including one of my favorite musicians – Elvis).
How did they meet?
Marty and Maddie met while working at Overstock.com. Maddie recruited Marty as her wingman to hook her up with his best friend and in the process fell in love with each other. They have been inseparable ever since.
Planning their perfect Maui Beach Wedding.
After dating for a while they knew they wanted a dream wedding. Something small with their friends and family was their ultimate goal. They spent a year researching and saving up for their intimate Hawaii wedding. After saving up for their perfect wedding they got ahold of Precious Maui Weddings who showed them their dream spot near Makena Beach.
Maui Beach Ceremony
Their ceremony only included their closest family and friends. They wanted a very intimate wedding ceremony here in Hawaii. Back in Utah, a much larger reception was planned for all of their friends. You can see in the photos below how awesome this Maui Beach Wedding was. They included a traditional lai ceremony that brought tears to everybody involved. It was very important to them that their two children were also included in the ceremony.
Maui Wedding Portraits
I convinced Maddie and Marty to jump in my truck and go exploring with me after celebrating their wedding with a beautiful lunch. Arriving to the island a few days earlier, I had spent those days driving around and hiking. We definitely wanted some volcanic rock included in our awesome beach views. Cliffs were a definite must! After a bit of convincing, I talked Maddie into hiking a quarter mile up to the Twin Waterfalls also. They were so accommodating and awesome, and as you can see – resulted in BEAUTIFUL PORTRAITS and an unforgettable Hawaiian Elopement!
